Mirbeau Inn & Spa planned for Village Green

September 21, 2012     Village Green, In The Media

Pinehills LLC President John Judge and Managing Partner Tony Green have announced that the long-awaited hotel planned years ago for The Pinehills is in the works.
Ten years ago, the town approved a 20-year tax increment financing agreement for construction of a hotel at The Pinehills, but 9-11 changed all that as the economic slide that followed put the kibosh on big projects like this.

“Eventually, Pinehills LLC repurchased the hotel parcel and renewed our search for a first-class lodging development with a proven tax record for quality management,” Judge and Green wrote in a statement. “The tax agreement is one of the important elements creating the possibility for the new Mirbeau Inn & Spa to become a part of the Plymouth community.”
Judge and Green said they’re currently working with the town on the 50-room inn, and need Town Meeting to consider a proposal to allow the remaining 10 years of the tax increment financing agreement to apply to the new facility. “We are hoping that this important part of the project will be approved.”
Here’s a quick rundown of the facts of this announcement.

WHAT?
Pinehills LLC has announced it is “very close to finalizing a commitment” for Mirbeau Inn & Spa to be constructed adjacent to the Village Green. The 50-room inn would be located at the east end of the Village Green with direct access off Landmark Drive.

NOT JUST AN INN
In addition to the guest room, the Inn will include a fine dining restaurant, a casual wine bar-bistro, a full-service Mirbeau Spa and fitness facility and meetings rooms, as well as an area to accommodate social functions for up to 250.

WHO?
“The Mirbeau Companies have developed and operated the nationally acclaimed Mirbeau Inn & Spa in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The new Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills will be developed and owned by Mirbeau Boston-South LLC and operated by Mirbeau Hospitality Services LLC, an award-winning, experienced management team that is highly regarded for its operation of first-class, unique destination properties,” Judge and Green said.

WHEN?
If all goes well with permitting and financing, Judge and Green are hoping construction could start as early as January, with a possible opening date in the early spring of 2014.
