Sustainable Pinehills was founded in June 2022. We are a group of environmentally conscientious volunteers invested in a vision to address current environmental concerns while serving our community as an active resource to promote events in environmental education and engagement.

We work collaboratively with other groups outside of The Pinehills. Our mission includes education, communication, and implementation.

An anniversary is a time to reflect on what we have been able to accomplish in a short period of time:
• A website has been developed
• A logo has been established
• A banner has been designed
• Educational events have been held
• Textile drives are done twice a year
• A Pollinator Garden has been planted
• A newsletter is sent out on a regular basis

Our major areas of focus have been:
• Reducing plastic waste
• Encouraging composting
• Keeping textiles out of the waste stream
