Charles David Salon helps cancer patient

Charles David Salon & Spa of Hanover and Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs of Norwell recently banded together to provide support to Michelle Fahey, a Walpole woman undergoing breast cancer treatment.
“Charles David was asked by The Ellie Fund to participate in their Red Carpet Ready Campaign in which they choose one of their patients and provide them with a multitude of mind, body and soul treatments to make their true beauty shine inside and out,” said David Honeycutt, owner of Charles David. The popular Hanover salon agreed to donate a wig for Michelle, a makeup consultation/application and a relaxing, therapeutic massage to get Michelle ready for the Ellie Fund’s big Oscar event held in Boston.

But that wasn’t enough for Honeycutt. “Once I spoke to Michelle Fahey, I instantly fell in love with her and knew I wanted to do more for her. She’s just that type of person.”

Honeycutt contacted his friends at Lyn Evans, recently relocated to 412 Washington Street in Norwell, and they immediately jumped on board. They rolled out the red carpet for her and provided Michelle with a complete daytime look including new comfortable jeans, flowing blouse, colorful scarf plus beautiful dangly earrings.

Then, Honeycutt contacted Jane Iredale – the cosmetics and skin care company -- which agreed to donate the products that Michelle chose during her consultation at Charles David.
Fahey loved her day of beauty and displayed a true knack for hair, makeup and fashion to everyone involved.

“Although having cancer is just one part of my life, I must admit it’s been a huge challenge,” she said. “It’s wonderful to work with their fabulous team to look and feel better which is helping me with my healing.”

Founded in 1994, the Ellie Fund is a Needham-based non-profit organization that fights breast cancer and eases its effects on patients and families across Massachusetts by providing transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, groceries and prepared/delivered meals free of charge.
