This Christmas morning, Aaron, Alex, Isaac, and Ellie will wake up in a home that's truly theirs—a three-bedroom house in Manomet built alongside Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, with support from The Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust.

Aaron and Alex both worked as nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for our community when we needed them most. While they were helping others, they lived with extended family, searching for an affordable path to homeownership for their young children. Aaron has since transitioned to the plumbing trade, but the challenge of finding affordable housing in Plymouth remained—until they connected with Habitat.

More than 440 volunteers contributed over 6,000 hours to build this energy-efficient home in just six months—the fastest build timeline in HFHGP's history. Aaron and Alex worked side-by-side with those volunteers, each completing 250 hours of sweat equity to help build their family's future.

"They didn't just receive a home—they helped build it," says Amy Belmore, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth.

Seven Families, Sixteen Children, One Community

This home marks a meaningful milestone: the seventh and final collaboration between The Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust (PAHCT) and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth. PAHCT has contributed more than $700,000 to Habitat toward affordable homeownership for seven Plymouth families—26 individuals total, including 16 children who now have the gift of a forever home.

PAHCT came to be because of people like Michael "Buster" Main, who challenged The Pinehills in the early days to contribute to Plymouth's broader housing needs. Buster later served on the Trust's board for many years.

"Beyond the critical funds they've provided, the trustees have become trusted friends," Amy Belmore shares. "They're always accessible and responsive, willing to share their expertise and connections as we work to increase our impact in the community."

A Christmas to Remember

There's something beautiful and profound about children waking up on Christmas morning in their own home for the first time. For Isaac and Ellie, this Christmas will be one they'll remember forever—the foundation upon which they can build their sense of security and possibility.

As we celebrate this milestone, we're thinking of all 26 individuals whose lives have been changed by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth and their partnership with Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust. Sixteen children with forever homes. More than $700,000 invested in Plymouth's future. And one family waking up on Christmas morning this year exactly where they belong.

That's worth celebrating.

As we celebrate Aaron, Alex, and their children, we invite you to help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth make even more affordable homes possible for more local families.
