June 12, 2024 6:00pm – 7:30pm
We are thrilled to welcome Henriette Lazaridis for an evening at Book Love. Join us as she shares her latest work Last Days in Plaka.
Last Days in Plaka follows a trio of heartbreakingly human characters in modern-day Athens as they navigate a hot, deserted city haunted by memories and their own obscured agendas. A poignant, surprising read that will make you look more closely, and with greater tenderness, at the world around you.
The seated conversation will begin at 6pm. Meet & greet and book signing to follow.
About Henriette:
Henriette grew up in the Boston area, the only child of expat parents, speaking Greek as her first language. Her earliest encounters with stories came through the episodes from the Odyssey that her father told her at bedtime. Since hearing those tales of the traveler looking for his home, she’s had interest in the issues of exile and nostalgia, belonging and identity. Henriette explored these themes in her debut novel THE CLOVER HOUSE, and most recently in Last Days in Plaka, a Good Morning America Buzz Pick and featured in the New York Times Book Review.
