Christopher Carazas is the author of Now That I’m Still Here: A Memoir of Ruin and Resurrection.
Raised across Europe, Africa, and Latin America he carried fragments of many worlds before returning to Massachusetts. His writing began as survival—after enduring severe psychological abuse and two near-fatal suicide attempts, he started putting words to the silence.
What began as confessional fragments to his late girlfriend while she lay in the ICU became a memoir of ruin, resilience, and the stubborn fight for breath.
Today, Carazas writes to reach others still navigating the dark, reminding them that survival is sacred and every story matters.
He lives in Massachusetts with his German Shepherd, Shadow
