This is not my personal story; this is a story about a wonderful Pinehills neighborhood that has become akin to a large family for many of its residents.

This neighborhood, tucked conveniently in the Village, is known as The Summerhouse Cottages neighborhood. Development by two premier custom home builders, McKenzie Brothers and Whitman Homes, began about 15 years ago with the original buyers having the opportunity to participate in the design of their homes. Customization was accomplished within the framework of a "cottage" feel. Front porches facing each other across a private Pocket Park created a unique warm and friendly personality for the Summerhouse Cottages.

Our Pocket Park has become the heart of this charming neighborhood of 32 single-family homes, hosting weekly gatherings of the neighbors as well as opportunity gatherings, i.e., the recent Eclipse. Other neighborhood events quickly became tradition—Kentucky Derby Parties, the Summer Picnics, the Grand Illumination with paper lanterns adorning the porches to recognize the end of summer, the OysterFests, just because, the Christmas Parties at the Stonebridge Club. But that's not all—there are those outings to see the Tall Ships in Boston or to take a boat ride on the canal.

New neighbors often comment, "I just feel like I am/we are meant to be here." All of this and more is the heart, soul and personality of our unique Summerhouse Cottages neighborhood where "everyone knows your name."
