Pinehills icons border

The cairn, an icon significant to our Pinehills experience

My connection to The Pinehills was serendipitous. My career had been in higher education until the economy tanked in '09. As I looked for a job in my field, I decided to push myself and apply for options outside my career path. The Pinehills was a short commute. I had skills to do the job. Heck, I could do this for a year or two. Guess what? I've been here over 16 years as Executive Director of the Pinehills Landowners Association and General District.

What pulled me in? A development that respected the environment and was not cookie cutter. Right away I saw the opportunity to do one of my most fundamental practices and joys: improve people's moments whether brief or long lasting.

Sheila Micciche and I worked day in and day out for many years welcoming people to the Stonebridge Club and to all the possibilities.

As time continued, the staff grew to the current day with a crew of people (Mark Berardi, Jennifer Reekie, Barbara Harder, Regina Sherman, and Max Monti) who share the same drive. We empower the residents to make the most of the opportunities, to figure out their way to accomplishing something, to be safe, to have the visual treat of people's hard work. And, don't forget the pool crew! Your stories and connections enrich our lives and we hear from you that it is reciprocal.

The other joy that I personally have is to have the honor of managing our contractors who take care of our Pinehills. A sense of pride and integrity takes trust, problem-solving, and communication.

Our model for programming empowers you, the residents, to take leadership, try new things, share your skills and talents, live a rich life with others.
I embrace the opportunity to create a culture of how to live as a community. Health and nature, nurture and friendships, speaking and listening, respect and tolerance, laughter and tears, art and science, footsteps through our sometimes simple, but also sometimes very difficult times.
"They" say that you find love when you least expect it. I have found a love of the people who come and go through the years in this contrived but ironically authentic place.
