Wednesday Unwind - Rye Tavern & Old Sandwich Road History

20 Years of Stories

May 05, 2020     People in The Pinehills, 20 Years of Stories

This year, Plymouth marks the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower arriving in Plymouth Harbor. We have our own anniversary this month - 20 years of The Pinehills! We are marking the occasion by sharing some of the stories that make this place so special. This yarn, from our friend Jim Baker, goes back a bit... ⌛

There is a deep historical significance to so much in our midst - all tied back to the long history of Plymouth - even before it was Plymouth. Two of our favorite historic places are Old Sandwich Road and Rye Tavern (formerly the Cornish Tavern.) Do you know their stories? Baker, Plymouth historian and talented storyteller, took time to share a colonial tale of these gems in The Pinehills. Click the image above to watch the video- and enjoy!
